Summary

Position 90 was first offered an the October 1945 auction of the Colonel Green collection, where it was offered as a pair with Position 100. A stipulation of the bidding was that the pair would be broken if bids as singles exceeded that for the pair. It was separated from Position 100 shortly after the auction.

Position 90 next appeared in a 1956 Sylvester Colby auction. It was then offered in a 1964 John A. Fox auction, where it was purchased by noted invert collector Robert H. Cunliffe.

Mr. Cunliffe held the stamp until 2009, when his collection of Inverts of the World was sold by Spink Shreves Galleries.
