Summary

From the top left corner of the sheet. With sheet selvage at left. Position 1 was offered in a 1942 auction as part of the Colonel Green collection. It was offered the following year in a Sanabria auction. Its next appearance at auction was a 1985 Ivy sale, where it was described as having been acquired by the current consignor in the Green sale (they must have meant the Sanabria sale), marking the first time in 43 years it was offered at auction. It was purchased by the dealer Kenneth Wenger at that 1985 auction. Its next appearance at auction was the 2006 Spink sale at the Washington stamp show.
