Description
1918. 24c carmine rose and blue. The unique block of 8, positions 85 to 88 and 95 to 98, with bottom arrow and blue plate #8493. The U. L. copy has been removed and lightly replaced and the two left stamps are slightly thin. Few unimportant gum creases.
Marvelously well centered, brilliant colors. A spectacular and gorgeous block, beyond a doubt the greatest show piece in all philately. The fortunate purchaser of this block will be the
possessor of something which everyone-collector and noncollector
alike-will envy and admire, as well as something
which no other person can ever duplicate and which will be famous the world over.
A very conservative catalogue value for this wonderful block would be $50,000.00, especially when one remembers that a mere single copy has brought well over $4,000.00 at auction
