This block came to light in 1933 when it was sold by New York dealer Philip Ward as agent for a New York bank to 'settle the estate of a Western collector'. The purchaser was dealer Emil Bruechig in New York who sold it to a collector who has remained anonymous. Eventually it was purchased by the Weill Brothers for their stock.
