James Alden Graves
Dr. James Alden Graves (1913-2000) was born in Ely Minn. He received his BS from the University of Minnesota School of Science, Literature and Arts. He received his medical degree from University of Minnesota Medical School, and did a one-year internship in New Orleans. He moved to Biloxi Miss. in 1939 where he settled for the next 60 years.
Dr. Graves served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II, and retired in the 1950’s.
Dr. Graves was a long-time client of the Weills of New Orleans. He remained anonymous for many years. His collection was sold by Siegel Auction Galleries under the pseudonym The Argentum Collection (Siegel Sale 807).
