Rafael Oriol of Havana, Cuba was owner of several companies in Cuba relating to the printing, packaging and plastics businesses. He was also a Rotarian.

In 1956 he sold majority ownership to his son-in-law, who was a United States citizen. The handwriting was on the wall in Cuba, and in 1959 Mr. Oriol fled to the United States, bringing his stamp collection and his Inverted Jenny with him.
