Daniel B Curtis
Daniel B. Curtis, who passed away on January 7, 2014, was an enthusiastic and well-respected
philatelist. Dan was a long-time member of the American Philatelic Society,
the U.S. Philatelic Classics Society and the American Revenue Association. He was a
trustee of the Philatelic Foundation and served on the Smithsonian National Postal
Museum’s Council of Philatelists. He was the recipient of several awards for his
online Revenue Census (www.thecurtiscollection.com), which is the most important
census research tool for Revenue stamps and multiples. The Siegel firm will continue
to maintain and update the Curtis on-line census.
Dan lived in Tampa, Florida, and spent 60 years in construction, development, power generation and banking in Florida and the Caribbean, while sandwiching in a 40-year career in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.
