Description

24c Carmine Rose & Blue Inverted Center (C3a), the now-famous copy from the McCoy .. block of four that was stolen from the A.P.S. Convention in Norfolk, Va. in 1955. It was subsequently recovered & donated to the American Philatelic Research Library. We offer it here on behalf of the APRL. The stamp has OG & is nicely centered, but has been thjnned & has a small tear just into design. Also, in attempting to disguise this copy, a center line was removed at the right, a few perfs being shortened In the process. Still a fresh & most presentable example of this ever-popular Rarity and certainly one with an unusual provenance
