The Amick book notes that one of the heirs of the owner of the block sold Position 47 privately to the Weill Brothers of New Orleans. The date is not given, but it would have been between 1968, when the Weills acquired it from Benjamin D. Phillips, and 1974, when it was offered in a Siegel auction. We have arbitrarily assigned 1972 as the date.
