The Stephen D. Brown Collection was sold by Harmer, Rooke & Co. of London on October 30-November 4, 1939. The sale contained 2,619 lots, and was consigned by order of Mr. Louis P. Brown of Glen [sic] Falls, New York.

The collection contained many printing varieties, such as printed on both sides and double impressions, as well as an Inverted Jenny.
